What's the big deal? Unlike bandwidth people get more and more expensive to employ over time. Health-care and cost of living are two biggies.

I'd hardly call Google the 'ultimate do-no-evil' company after they signed that anti-net-neutrality pact with Verizon last summer.

Tell me, how exactly is writing a sensationalized article that targets one of the Internet's oldest and largest communities to get fed by CPM advertising any different than what they decry? People have said this time and time again, but they never seem to debut let alone promise any sort of technology to address the issue. They just leave that end of the deal up in the air. As if to say that it's o.k. to spin topics as long as they strike a social nerve, but those who're less graceful at the craft are undeserving of the benefits which they themselves reap.

If the search giants had any balls they'd cut the "Internet Marketing" community off at the knees. Because the money making methods pushed by that community either don't work or are unsustainable, so they're entirely reliant on a steady stream of new recruits. If they want to promote gaming your system don't let them reap any benefits from it.

Personally I don't think social bookmarking websites should be used for anything but entertainment. Because we only upvote things we want to see, so if submitted content is hugely important but rubs us the wrong way it wont get any traction.

He's also did an interview with Mixergy in March of 09' if anyone is interested. It's a little date at this point, but his main message is still relevant. If you participate in social bookmarking websites you'll eventually know what content they want to see.

I don't mean to knock your project, I think it's cool. However, if you look at the improvements done to the existing search giants it's all about solutions to social problems. Stuff like checking the latest score of a game, finding movie times, the weather, etc. Which to me suggests that the goldmine for modern search development is in creating a glanceable results.

Just to be clear when I say 'social' I am referring to a general community, so social problems are really just annoyances that the majority of community members have to deal with. Sorry if that was a bit confusing; I'm not the most articulate person in the world.
