It's completely the opposite at my local ENT. There are many signs saying to NOT use Q-Tips. Delegating interviews isn't a unique thing. A team Lead or a senior dev can handle a good portion of it. It's also important that a candidate have a good fit personality-wise with the team he'll be working with, not just the manager.

What I think is interesting is their direction towards streaming. For instance, they struck a deal to stream NFL games and they will being streaming the RNC and DNC conventions.

That may be a good direction for them to pair with their platform.

I don't like the idea of FPS'. We'd expect them to behave the humans when they play FPS - they run looking forward and will occasionally look left or right and follow some predetermined pathing that they are familiar with.

With an AI, if we base it on pixels, what they will do is spin around 360 degrees about 60 times a second while moving forward so that it can maximize all of the pixels inputted at a time. It would compare it against the stored level design and shoot at anything that is off (or against character models). I can just see that it's not going to behave like anything we'd expect.

Well, if that's the case, then why are humans crashing into others in prefect conditions? It's data that is fair but for certain conditions, as you said. I am interested in how they handle in extreme conditions but the reality is that it is FAR safer in mild conditions BECAUSE they aren't distracted by their cell phones or the sights or being tired/drunk, etc.

The article also somehow associated treating TBI/PTSD through this BCI with creating Super Soldiers. I am not seeing that jump. Super Soldier would imply that they are able to carry out the same tasks that a team could by themselves. We are still very, very far away from that.

Alot of those plants are old. For instance, the average age of a plant in the U.S. is 34 years old[1]. Nuclear plants have gone through several redesigns to be safer and more efficient - tremendously more than these old reactors.

These hypotheticals don't really help the conversation. I don't know how the car would react but it would be nice to know if the car is going to try and work with neighboring cars to try and not hurt anyone. Not to mention that the car will already see the girl crossing the highway before she ever does get out there because of how sophisticated the sensors are.

Yea, I am sure that is the goal. But in order to provide a clean, seamless experience, you need to render what is roughly 3x the amount of data compared to normal 1080p monitors. You'll also want to make sure you don't have dropped frames as that would have a huge impact in the experience. You need high framerates and responsive feeback so that motion sickness is minimized. As you can see, there are a lot of reasons why a high-end graphics card is required. So yes, that is the goal but we can't get there right now.

The timeframe doesn't seem right. For one, they were talking and giggling while someone was presenting? Is this a common thing? Another is that they were speaking louder than a whisper. Really? Making sexual jokes while someone is presenting in a louder than whisper volume? I don't know. It doesn't add up. Maybe they were really being that immature or your first quote is dramatized.

You're right but it's still vague. It wasn't made clear on how or if they went about getting new jobs. How many resumes sent out? How many interviews? We don't know what their experience level is...etc...etc. Those questions miss the point of what you are getting at (gender/minority bias) but there is still a technical angle in getting a job.
