The article says: "nuclear power produces very little waste"

Is that true? Does it take into account all the nuclear waste that takes millions of years to fade out?

Wouldn't it be fair to calculate "waste produced" as "amount x (duration to be fully recycled)"?

Example calculation based on my amateurish guestimates give us then: residual waste takes maybe 500 years until it's organic earth for planting again. Nuclear waste takes 5 million years, so does a nuclear plant really produce 500 years / 5.000.000 years = 1/50.000th of waste than comparable powerplants?

I don't understand why Google (and Apple) at all are allowed to deny apps on their own. This is self-administered justice! They are monopols. If they say "there are alternatives, just go to Apple/Google/China/F-Droid" that's just a farce that should be punished hard.

As a programmer, please first define the words "programming" and "easy" ;)

If you instead talk about whole process of everything involved, then split it up into 50 distinct skills that all come together to 'imagine, design, mock, develop, run and support production ready software'.

To most people some of the needed skills are 'easy' and others are 'hard'.

For example just writing 'compileable code' with the help of stackoverflow is probably easy for most. That's not what i call 'programming' but pure beginners might.

The important question (imho) would be: What can be done with this still open connection after the client closed the tab?

* Might the server use it for anything without my consent?

(e.g. hacking the sandbox as this state of the browser might open another code-tree with yet unknown security-bugs, or might still running js-scripts keep going in the background even after closing the tab?)

* Might the browser use it for anything without the server's consent?

Seems the same behaviour with any other country. Can you name just one that would behave different? So this is no accusation but just business as usual.

Besides, why at all trying to blame anyone on this? It's a natural disaster that could happen to anyone anywhere. The real culprit is, that as long as the wealthy don't try to vaccinate everyone in this world as quickly as possible, the virus still has potential to mutate to sth. where current vaccines don't protect against ..

which comes from peer-review and other scientists verifying it.

.. there are too many Prof. Dr. Dr. that did not "cheat" but still claim covid isn't real .. so the title really doesn't mean anything at all to me .. also having studied myself seeing what kind of idiots also got their exams .. it's maybe just a proof they can 'write' and 'read', but even believing this would proof 'understanding' is a big overestimation of the title itself ..

Maybe we just should not care? In the end, if someone claims sth., she always has to give proof. If da Prof. Prof. Dr. Dr. super plus claims sth. without proof, and a pink hair colored teenager claims sth. with proof, everyone _should_ believe the teen (actually believing the proof, not the person). Sadly thats not the case, lots of people still believe "eminence based proof" instead of "evidence based proof".

I know there are some cryptocoins that actually do _useful_ calculations.

Maybe we should all strive for some kind of open standard with which every interested party can get their calculations calculated as the proof of work (e.g. cancer detection, seti, dna-analyses, ai-training, ..).
