Great thing about k8s: you can expose all your dev env needs super fast and easy.
And adding a dex or so upfront is also super easy.
If you are a small company and need this regularly try to take a look at managed k8s.
It will be worth it

Totally forgot about what I really like:
Quarkus with kotlin.
Kotlin makes so much more fun than java, runs on JVM too. Unfortunately it adds a kotlin complexity layer over quarkus which can add issues
Puh PHP is still super shitty.
Alone debug support on any Jim based language is so much better.
I would still recommend spring boot with normal pages (templated) so no frontend ja stuff. That should be the easiest and best supported stack.
I would also still do cloud native.
Configuring, upgrading, monitoring etc is so much easier with some cheap k8s behind it (managed by argocd).
Database: managed postgres.
Alone the fact that every stable coin created itself out of thin air when bought, makes this tremendously stupid.

I charged my ev at my parents house over the weekend. 90kwh on a 1.5k standard outlet.
Charging with electricity is 10x easier remote than gas.
And makes you independent.

I have never seen a tech demo as good as chatgpt.
I'm following ml papers, ml work etc for a while.
The progress is crazy.
The use cases popping up are already here.
Not betting on ai/ml right now is something someone can't afford.
And I'm not easily be swayed.
But alone the fact how good Charcpt understood what I wanted it to do and seamless switching languages is crazy good.
And ml is everywhere: voice synthesis, OCR, image analysis, image synthesis, text understanding, driving, ...

I started with Ansible and k8s and.its.fine.
Not really hard, you get it up and running fast enough (who ever wants to setup a k8s cluster like this has the week to do so).
But honestly: don't!
I switched to rke2. Alternativly try out gardener from sap or anything else between Ansible and managed.
You do not want to take care of bare metal k8s.
And rke2 is still not perfect but it's rancher support will be better and better and more than just you are using it.
But be real: if you don't need air gap, go to a cloud provider.
Ah and btw open nebula also started supporting k8s by deploying rke2!
