Is there a better viewer for lttng than the lttv gui? I got spoiled by QNX's amazing tracing infrastructure and analysis tools and long for something similar on Linux.

Unfortunately, no. I worked for places that wouldn't even approve the purchase of the 2.0 beagle. I guess that what happens when the equipment and my pay come from separate budgets. That said one can use Linux as an analyser when windows is the usb-host by running windows in a vm. There are also software analysers that tap into the windows stack available. The Kinect is one of the few peripherals that isn't windows based.

Could it not be in a meta stable equilibrium like this if the weights were of equal mass? The numbers of the weights are unit-less. We assume they represent the mass, but for all I know the number is the serial number of the weight.

The odd part is that QNX has never really been interested in the mobile-os market. They have mainly been targeting the automotive, defense, industrial and medical verticals.

For me one of the big things that I need to constantly remind myself of is to read what is on the screen, instead of what is in my cache. While this trick may help with testing for equality I'll often mix up the bit-wise and logic operators as well, not so mention the misplaced semi-colon that is so hard to see. Reading what is actually written has saved me numerous errors and is invaluable for code reviews and the like.
