For what it's worth, I just fired up my two portal gen 2 in the closet, updated them and the adb setting just worked. The adb UI is a little jank and doesn't appear to enable but it does actually work. Got them set up as Home Assistant dashboards

I'm a Meta employee so who knows if I'm in some magic gatekeeper but ADB definitely didn't work on these even as an employee before

Hashed hierarchical timing wheels is a cool very specialized data structure to make this efficient. The paper claims it's O(1) to start, stop and maintain timers which is much more efficient than O(log n).

Given there's n timers and O(1) operations I'm not sure where the O(n log n) fits in here. Possible in the minimum number of ticks?

Wi-Fi over Coax 6 years ago

Some automated train systems already do this for control such as some of the Vancouver SkyTrain lines.

From the SelTrac wikipedia page:

"in newer versions of SelTrac, the control signal is transmitted inside the running rails at radio frequency using IEEE 802.11 (WiFi) access points. "

Both Google Analytics and Facebook's interest based ads/"shadow" profiles work similarly.

You can opt out of Google's interest based ads via https://adssettings.google.com and Facebook's interest based ads via https://www.facebook.com/ads/settings without having to have an account with either.

I don't believe either "shadow" profiles are every associated with an account or personal details even when you make an account on the associated service.
