Have you played any sandbox games more seriously and joined some guilds etc? I would say WoW was more of a "world" in the start (but not on a comparable level to others) and turned less and less so over time. The one thing blizzard always managed really well however is a crazy level of polish. I am sure they could make any kind of game really shine.

I was thinking of something similar recently as I am a big fanatic of PvP games of different kinds. Problem is as I get older I have less time to play to keep up with my enemies and would love to have "adult" servers which are only on at certain times of the day (maybe even with some auto grinding on the off hours). To allow people to be on more even footing. I bet there would be a decent chunk of people who would enjoy this.

Not true, EVE, Albion are like that (and probably a good number of others). Some survival type games with PvP features parts of that as well although they are regularly wiped. While the demand is smaller than mainstream MMOs the following is way more hardcore, there is a reason some of these games are going strong after 15-20 years.

I would say it is definitely a contender for the best fps. Especially if you play it in a eSports manner with a dedicated team. Not many games that can compete with what ow is doing. Very excited to see what ow2 brings.

If I am running a game at under 60 fps or less I probably will assume something is wrong. I feel pretty bad if I sit and stare at a low fps game too long. 4k I do not give a rats ass about however.

Isn't it still in deprecation hell? Do they even have a recommended proper own network solution?

Everytime I use unreal I'm blown away by how smooth it is (as long as I find what I'm looking for in their insanely huge toolbox), unity meanwhile just feels like constant roadwork.

I mostly agree but I don't think avoiding to listen to stuff all the time is great either. I walked the pct for 5 months and listened to plenty of books and podcasts and they gave me many good ideas. I would often lose myself in the ideas and the podcasts would just ramble on in the background like white noise. My only regret is not noting not thoughts down.

I'm very much a competitive fps player, i have low latency to the closest stadia server and I'll tell you: It's absolutely unplayable for me due to the input lag. I'm normally in top 1-2% and on stadia I'm closer to top 30% it's a huge difference.

I'll tell you the reason that sometimes stuff gets removed for "minor infractions" is because if you don't people keep doing it and referring to those things that are minor infractions. "why can they do it but not I?". It just causes drama and I think the majority of the moderators are doing it for free on their own time.
