First of all I didn't complain. I don't care what happens personally. Secondly it's just a fact that the US has a tremendous amount of regulations compared to the past. Just look at how few regulations existed in the 70s vs today. Apparently you don't like word counts, but the reality is there are a enormous amount today that didn't exist in the past.

You can't regulate your way into capitalism because capitalism by definition means markets free from government interference. The more it interferes the less capitalism you have.

United Healthcare is a great example. The governments enforce these companies being a monopoly be restricting which companies can operate in which states, having an enormous amount of red tape and regulation, documentation laws, etc.

If it was truly "capitalism" the government wouldn't' get involved at all. Part of the reason that doctors are so expensive to see is because there is a board that the US Government certifies to allow them to control which hospitals are allowed to be teaching hospitals for doctors.

If it was true capitalism there would be no regulation there and any college could graduate doctors. This artificially keeps the supply lower than it would be. These are facts.

So clearly you are pretty uninformed as the military spending is only 13% of the federal budget. Social Security (AKA a socialist program, IDK if anyone can deny that) is 22%, Medicare (another socialist program is 14.2%). Interest on our prior spending (a lot of it from SS and Medicare, etc, some military too. is 14%

So, if you add social programs you has (SS = 22.5%, Medicare = 14.2%, not counting education) that is 36% of the budget or nearly 3x miltitary spending.

A capitalist economy would NOT have those things are as they are not free market at all, they are the government forcing your to pay into them.

The United States is far more socialist than capitalist and it’s not close. In the early 1900s the federal tax rate was 0. Now we spend 125% of what we bring in in taxes. That is definitely not capitalism. That’s not a free market, that is the government spending far beyond what’s even feasible

Again, as I keep explaining, if companies were free to compete then even 911 is not going to redirect you to a 13k ambulance service. Why would they unless they are getting payoffs. It doesn't cost anywhere near that to transport you.

The EU can technically do it but they won’t. Starlink dwarfs all the services you mentioned. The EU doesn’t even believe in air conditioning much less making a robust satellite network

Again, if people are doing it cheaper, how could a 13k per ride company stay in business? 911 services would have to be steering them to an insanely bloated expensive company. That wouldn't happen. Competition brings better service and much cheaper prices, always does, without exception.

I live not to far from NYC and I think it’s fantastic. Comcast was charging me 75 a month and Starlink charges me 40 for the same service which is generally excellent

You don’t have to. You do what you want. I’d prefer to hire a company where the workers make more money. Right now they make a pittance.

I think the answer is very simple. Regulation. If there was no regulation or very little then anyone could open up an ambulance service and the cheapest costs and the best service would win.

Unfortunately that’s not the case. It’s like day care. Day care is expensive because the government mandates it to be expensive. Otherwise you’d have grandmas down your street would gladly watch your kid but it’s generally not allowed for more than a couple kids.

Same thing with houses. I have half an acre. Could easily put 2 affordable tiny homes on it. Good income for me, cheap rent for someone else, but, unfortunately it’s legally blocked

I currently just use a Mac Mini M4 with cursor. I had 30 years programming before this (in my mid 40s now) so I am not a great person to give vibe coding advice because I have so much actual coding m. I’m pretty sure I couldn’t have done it without knowing how to code because there were some times even the best models would get stuck and I’d have to figure it out myself.

If I had to give advice I’d say to just do it. Work on some project that interests you and go for it

It’s a fantastic signal processing / engineering app. There are 5 major players and this app isn’t quite as good but it’s in the ballpark. I’d day when I release early next nonth this will be the biggest fully featured vibe coded app I’m aware of.

Don't think it was going to zero anyway. They only had to worry about servicing their debt, they were doing well other than that. And even then they were probably fine.

Composer 2.5 is so underrated IMO. I built a really feature rich application, insanely complicated, close to 200k LOC since it came out and for the most part it ran like a champ. Only used CLaude a couple times to get it unstuck. 8 hours a day and I'm paying about 30 a month.
