The lesson is that everyone on the internet is at least 18 years old.

How can you not care for people working in the top tech while probably not even knowing half of what you have learned?
Would you say the same thing when you would be another field of work; like medicine maybe?
Always remember that theese are the people in charge of running the internet.
I really hope he didn't have too much say in the important things at Let's Encrypt. Because statements like this really damage the little trust I have left in companys.
So you use JavaScript libraries to avoid writing JavaScript to use a JavaScript browser API?
Thank you. That is pretty much what I had in mind when asking why to buy the Mac.
I get that Apple has some products that are really good, but for a professional environment I am still unsure if I would really recommend to buy them.
Please forgive my ignorance but the specs on this are just average in my opinion. Why would I choose this over a custom build pc with almost the same, if not better, components?
My experience with all apple products at work has been quite bad so I might be a little biased.
Reading the comments here kind of makes me wonder why no negative feedback is allowed? I mean this fits exactly into the binary world of Greta, but I would have expected so much more from this website filled with smart people.
Great idea by the way. Of course skipping commercials in any kind of media was always a thing to do and was not invented for web ads only.
"And they're growing more self aware any minute."
But I won't subscribe to all the other streaming services just to watch one show on each one. Netflix isgreat because I can watch everything in one place. When this changes, pirating shows will be more comfortable again.
Does anyone have some example images taken with this kind of lens? I'm curious what the result would look like.
Isn't the example on how to make the referenced file better another contribution to the pool of "broken by default" images? Either that or I don't get the argument.
I would argue that the comfort of using jQuery comes at the cost of speed and obfuscation. I stopped using jQuery about 2 years ago and for the most part had no problems whatsoever even when I was forced to support IE9. Also I found that searching http://youmightnotneedjquery.com/ helps a lot when deciding how to implement certain features.
Or just go under the radar and disable all notifications for all apps and also disable vibration or any other notification signal.
Not even bill murray?
Isn't glacier the product which seems very cheap if you only look at the storage cost but is extremely expensive when retrieving the data? I remember reading an article by someone who had to pay something like 2000 USD to restore his data which wasn't even in the terrabytes. Although I might be mistaken here.

Without too much sarcasm I have received support requests that were far too close to this.

Laughing way to hard, but is it having a stroke? https://stackroboflow.com/#!/question/14791
None
Today I could easily afford that. But thinking back a few decades when I was young and didn't have much money at my disposal I would say using stuff for free isn't that bad.
Especially when piracy is so much easier than getting your account suspended for using an adblocker.
What about option 4 to not provide a "free" service at all?
People probably won't understand this but I totally agree with you.
I already don't like their product
Because the examples given in this "book" teach a bad coding style and explain nothing in detail. If a trainee only used this to prepare for the final exams and I was to ask a more in depth question he would propably fail.
Example: "Why do you use double quotes everywhere?" Most probable answer: "Because I can use variables and the backslash-n thingies everywhere and its more convinient than using single quotes."
Example: "Why do you use '. "\n";' instead of the PHP_EOL constant?" Most probable answer: "What is PHP_EOL?";
Example: "Why aren't you using namespaces anywhere?" Most probable answer: "What are namespaces?"
Altough this might be a german perspective but I would not hire someone that presents me this kind of code. And for anyone saying "But this is only one book to learn the basics?" why not learn it the right way from the start?
Why not teach it better? https://glot.io/snippets/f8g0wlar0d
No wonder PHP developers have a bad reputation.
Since he doesn't have an online identity or footprint so to say, wouldn't that make him a prime targt for identity theft?
Just a few years ago this would have sparked an outcry about apple / google / microsoft using his website / assets / whatever without asking for consent.
But today it's cool when some billion dollar company uses someone elses creations without paying because you should be happy they didn't shut your service down with some vague patent bullshit.
I still remember my "Swatch The Beep" watch =)
Because it is not the "natural" time but the artificial one that is chosen.
I find this rather distracting than helpful. At least in terms of enhancing my abilities. Because my brain does this pretty good already without images "in the way" to catching objects.
But it might indeed be helpful for tracing the path of objects to analyze afterwards.
This is terrible
