What a lot of people don't seem to realize is that the issues that are so very important to them are probably just not that important to the president (if he even knows about them at all.) He has a whole world full of things to worry about and only 365 days a year. When something so important to you such as SOPA arrives on his desk, he probably is forced to paint with very broad strokes. Should I be strong on IP, weak on IP? Does my party support it? The specific long term effects that so many of us fear probably don't even cross his mind.

At first when I saw this headline and that the source was github I thought it meant making too many commits in git. I couldn't figure out why that would be such a bad thing.

My favorite part is how it defaults to using lines from everyone except Donny.

As a novice programmer, I found this article to be a good bump towards thinking for myself. Too often I find myself doing something because its what the tutorial or book I was reading said was best practice, without really thinking the situation through. Being able to explain why you are making the decisions that you make seems like an important step between just haphazardly piecing together snippets of code you memorized and actually logically solving problems.

Very cool. This reminds me a lot of playing around on a korg kaossilator, a very nifty toy with an xy pad where you can pick a scale, bpm and an "instrument" and jam away without worrying about hitting wrong notes.
