All the tests show low speed impacts/crashes, I'm curious as to how well it would work in a high speed impact where your head hits the ground going forward, is it attached firmly enough to stay in place?

Also, how does it know when to inflate? Can it be repacked?

It looks interesting, but I'll stick with my regular helmet for now, even if it isn't stylish.

A good first test to see whether something is possibly a bad idea is to give it to a 13 year old boy and see if he makes dick jokes with it. This feature seems ripe for the picking.

Am I the only person who has bought a game after pirating and playing it through? Also I'd be more inclined to buy more games first if there was some way of getting my money back if I really don't like it. I'm looking at you, GTA4, you blurry, poo sandwich.

I have only written a small amount of assembly code, but I cannot imagine how someone who has written even a tiny bit of either could make such a mistake.

Looks like they have taken a lot of lessons from modern FPS games, limited weapon carrying, regenerating health etc. While this may be good or bad it definitely won't be what a lot of people are looking for, I've just replayed Duke3D and it's pure old school glory and I hope they retain as much of this as possible. If not then you can always count on the modding community to try.

I don't know what you mean when you say adaptive optics sorry, but yes it could carry it's own air, I'm not sure of the practicalities but it's possible.

Also there are hard physical limits on how finely you can converge a point of light, MinimumDiameter = (2.44wavelengthfrequency)/LenseDiameter This is called the minimum spot size.

Some would include that it super heats the air to gain thrust, as you get higher the air gets thinner meaning less thrust. Also there are limits to how narrow you can keep a laser beam through air and atmospheric absorption and diffusion.

All these things combine to make it more difficult to get energy to the craft as it get's further away.
