it's not due to some arbitrary cut-off date, it's that windows 11 requires TPM 2.0. It's likely that your PC just either lacks a motherboard that supports a firmware TPM on AMD CPUs, or is just missing a TPM module. Accordingly, I've prevented my system from being auto-upgraded to 11 by just disabling my system's TPM.

TL;DR, Steam's Proton compatibility layer. 90% of steam games work out of the box on it, with the biggest exceptions that don't work being due to anti-cheats explicitly preventing the game from running in something like proton/wine. You can thank the steam deck for bringing this level of functionality, as it's basically a Linux box with -actually reasonable defaults-.

Yup! My semi-local Micro Center did exactly this back when there was a major internet outage in their area; it was a mess, but incredibly neat!
