Modern culture is filled with prejudices towards non-human forms of life. Not only are animals taken for granted and exploited for the well-being of the human species, which is wrongfully considered a "superior" life form, but life itself is taken for granted. Realizing just "now" that non-human life forms are more complex than we thought is simply because our ability to even be open minded about that possibility was completely suffocated by the hubris of humanity.

When open knowledge systems will run programs to drill into archives of information, discover patterns and make predictions, how long until the open access initiatives will clash with the growing interest of companies to hold monopoly on those programs? That's just one of the big questions raised by this issue.

Precision medicine will work to prevent the effects of cosmic radiation and DNA sequencing will probably be used to select candidate that are less likely to develop Alzheimer's or cancer in high risk environments. Surely it's been already figured out but the article doesn't mention it.

While Arago (See Hans Christias Boos)has already a system that is 95% AI, I think it takes just a little bit more collaboration between disparate projects like this to truly create consciousness, even learning from people's actual memories. We should be very close to that moment.
