Not only that, but they just upgraded to VVVVVV 2.0, which has a level editor and bunch of really good new levels. I'm a huge fan of the game, and this is like the best thing that happened to me today.

They didn't want to make a new file system for a while, when they were going after ZFS, but that has fallen through. And anyway, all he saying is that they definitely could make their own, which is true.

You're acting like this has anything to do with the News of the World allegations, other than the fact that it is what gave them the idea. It's mostly about them entertaining themselves. Lulzsec/antisec does have a message (essentially that the security industry is exploitative) but when they act under Lulzsec it really is just for the lulz.

> If taken as accurate, it tells me that I am not ready for a girlfriend, if it means I can't ogle other girls.

Depends on what kind of relationship you want to have. In my last one I ogled other dudes all the time.

So this is how straight people date? Sounds like hell. I try to avoid relationships expectations of emotional support are based on how well I can follow unspoken rules and keep my feelings under wraps. For many gay men this means being a lot more brash and rude with our partners, and relaxing the rules of monogamy. I'm not saying that it will work for everyone, but I've seen similar kind of relationships work with my straight friends.

> Guys often love to look at the other ladies and check out their curves, maybe fantasize a little. It's the nature, sort of. I mean, single guys do it, married guys do, even gay guys do it.

Ha, no we don't. I mean, I do with guys and all but still.

From the article:

"Conrad credits his 'incredible engineering team' for pulling off this transition from Flash dependance to HTML5. And while it’s clear that the Flash addiction has been kicked, Conrad notes that they continue to have fall-back Flash elements for browsers not fully HTML5-compliant."

Honestly, even if they still used Flash to play music and did the rest in HTML it would still be a huge improvement.

Own Your Identity 15 years ago

As he mentions in the post, this is from one of the creators of Tumblr, who's elevator pitch at this point is "a social network that gives users control of their identity". It is one of the easiest ways for someone to practice what he's preaching.

Still, the people who are converting everything over to Google+ aren't crazy (well, they are a little bit, no search and no RSS is kinda a big deal). The design of G+, particularly the permalink pages, does a good job of making the first thing you see the actual content, not the fact that it is on G+.

> It's an issue for me because most often I am not interested in pictures in my feed so a smaller version--like facebook--is preferred.

I like the bigger pictures, cause I never was able to really use the tiny pictures on FB. But yea, I think if you are focusing on designing something so that users can easily skip over stuff something has gone horribly wrong.
