This exactly, but let me add: Develop an urge to understand things. One needs to understand the whole system environment just to be able to make good choices.

Which Notebook is a "good" linux machine? All my "linux on NB" experiences so far have been kind of compromised with lack or quality of drivers - resulting in poor overall performance. E.g.: no/poor/intermittend wifi/BT, excessive battery drain, loud fans.
These settings left me with a neverending accident on one lane.

Try to get in early or / late on a week day - especially if you like to let your eyes / imaganitaion wander around uninterupted. Otherwise it gets somewhat crowded despite the fact that their limiting / scheduling aproach.

It is more the necessity of working around frequency congestion and all those other voice via radio related problems eg ("to","two","victor","vector",unameit) than a convenience change of a good working system.

It also has to do something with radio (voice) frequencies beeing at max capacity in high traffic areas.
It's a (underfunded) government industry - change often takes a lot of time in big companys, especially with their high demand to security and procedures.

DestinationQueue handling: It is not redundant, those are different options. Just to give an valid example: Add something to the queue, sort the queue, make the elevator run the updated and sorted queue.
Having both goingUpIndicator and goingDownIndicator is probabaly necessary to get this abritrary third state (both enabled / both disabled) which essentially indicates that the elevator will go in both directions.
