What would experts here recommend for simulating 5ghz and 10ghz USB 3 on a particular gerber file and layup?

I've been avoiding it and spinning boards making small changes hoping for the best but still having issues. And don't have the resources to buy a scope capable of doing an eye diagram at 10ghz

Also bonus question.. How good are the simulations? Am I likely to be able to iterate on my layout and improve the eye diagram and order boards which have a good chance of working?

Surprisingly the answer is most often no, however in poor signal areas like in a city or under canopy the answer is yes as you are more likely to get a signal from the remaining bits of sky view.

The other benefit is when doing PPP the convergence time is dramatically shorter with multi constellation.

When doing RTK most receivers will use only GPS, as it is generally the most accurate, but it can and will use GLONASS occasionally. I have never seen one use beidu or Galileo

Its interesting how much effect the founder can have on a business even after its grown large. You can tell if the company exists primarily to fulfill a mission or just as a money making exersize.

Random story... I bought some resistor kits from aliexpress. I noticed the few I used were super accurate. So I tested a bunch. They were all accurate to, not sure exactly but let's say 0.1% ish. I went and measured a bunch of 1% ones from digikey,and they were around 0.5 to 1%.

I guess they were tight tolerance ones that made it into a ultra cheap smd kit.

I had the same thing. 18k available on digikey. I even still had the browser window open, and the next day 0 available. I found arrow had 26 and everyone else zero. I managed to get enough for testing but will have to redesign now, but how to redesign for a chip I know will be available. I guess I need to buy a reel before designing. This sucks tbh

If anyone has any interest in this topic, THE PIRATE HISTORY PODCAST is absolutely brilliant. I'm up to Ep. 50 and I'm pretty sure I'll start again when I finish (apx 200ish episodes). It takes podcast quality and depth to another level.

I make gps enabled cameras and am battling with RFI from USB3. Juat ordered a bunch of chokes to try on cables to mitigate. Im surprised this level of RFI is allowed. Either that or these devices aren't being tested properly. Like they are powered up for testing but aren't used with actual data being sent to and from them

Making corporate videos like this is much harder than it seems. If the tallant behind the video is in any way related to the tallant behind the products, I'm sold.

ITAR is surprisingly broad. It covers a lot of stuff that no one cares is restricted, but that just gets ignored.

I took up EE professionaly at around age 38. I learned really quickly, and am currently quite productive. But there is a catch. I learned the basics when I was a kid, and got into ham radio. A basic knowledge and 'feeling' for what's going on in the electromagnetic space meant 25 years later I could learn at a rapid pace.

So of course you can't go back in time and replicate that, but you can do this... Get SPICE, or better a real lab, and start messing around with the absolute basics until you can dream it like when you finally do when learning a second language.

Without that primal understanding all the advanced stuff will just be rote memory learning.

It will feel slow and you sound like someone who wants to move fast. But getting a feel for voltage and current and their basic interaction in a hands on way will set you up to absorb the more advanced stuff like a sponge.

Just because you 'know' ohms law etc doesn't mean you can 'think' in ohms law like you do when you speak your first language.

So go deep on the basics. Give it lots of boring hours. Then start getting into the more esoteric stuff.

Xrays.Dew.temperature extremes. Misloaded film. Dust or mould on lens. Physical damage. Shutter mechanism life is limited and they need to be pre emptively replaced. External flash sync. Problems between flash sync and shutter speed. Light meter false readings due to dirty light meter lenses.

All of these are real. I'm a professional photographer and I own this camera in my historical collection.
