And yes, ethereum has more potential for problems, it's a much more complicated system than bitcoin. Their current goals are proof of stake (getting away from energy wasting mining) and scalability. Bitcoin is great for what it's great for, being digital gold, but it's pretty far from replacing Visa, ethereum actually has a shot at that.

It's not about how fast you can task a satellite and get data back that the article is talking about.

It's taking about between when the satellite was launched, and when it was able to send images back down was 58 hours. That is impressive. In the past it would normally take a week or more to get a satellite into a stable orbit and do all the checkout tests. After that, sure, task away and get all the images you want.

This would basically sit just under adobe's costs, but there wouldn't be the time investment of learning their tools, and the user doesn't need a beefy computer. I think the average American cares some, they just aren't aware of what they can do and aren't aware of the extent surveillance is happening.

Deep fakes are going to start becoming part of our news, our entertainment, and our justice systems. "Fake news" a few years ago was just cherry picked data and skewed graphs, now the probability of any piece of media being completely fabricated is within a range to consciously consider.

I've been converting people to signal for years, I've got everyone in my life to switch except for my parents and 2 coworkers.

Just my opinion, our dev/admin tools need to be a little friendlier. There are too many people that are turned off from learning Linux, programming, or anything deeper than using an app, because there can be so many headaches. There will also people that dive deep into the kernel, but Ive wasted a lot of my time over the years doing something someone else could have done if there was just a web portal, GUI, or hell even decent documentation.

We need more people that are computer literate, and making the learning curve a little friendlier helps with that. It's not like there's a petition to get rid of SSH.

Cool thanks. I might have to start from scratch just because of the underlying mechanisms that I'd want in it. The premise is to use microtransactions for posting/comments, mixed with a bit of the patreon model, to reward good posts and have a barrier to entry for reposts/trolling.
