I can only repeat myself. If you are US based privacy is a literal oxymoron for you. Not saying that's not the case anywhere else but it's especially bad for US and it's biggest allies (Saudi Arabia and Israel).

I have spoken to a huge range of socioeconomic classes and the people that knew what DDG was explicitly said they could not care less. Obviously my sample size is minuscule but in EU generally people are perfectly aware of the spying yet don't really care (which I disagree with but that's how it is).

DDG is based in the US. It doesn't matter what the company says wishes or hopes. It is by nature not private.

Yes it actually is the answer because that's the design paradigm of gnome. You get a basic shell that implements Red Hats vision and everything that you find missing/don't like is what extensions are for.
So how do you solve this on other Desktops? Do you use the window previews or is there any other way? Because Windows and Mac both only show icons as well and Youd have to look at the names or previews of the Windows to know exactly which one you'd want. The grouping of applications can be disabled in gnome tweak
There's a config for that in the tweak tool. It makes secondary monitor workspaces static. It's not exactly what you want but it gets kinda close for me. Wayland does away with the shitty X conventions so maybe there is hope once X finally dies.

This is plainly wrong. Go on compare words in those languages and it will strike you how similar the words are whether it's German and Urdu, French and Persian or Hindi and Italian. Names are a different thing since names are rather based on religious and ethnic identity rather than actual language.
The concepts of Europe and Asia as distinct continents date back to antiquity, and their borders are geologically arbitrary.
Either you call Hindi, Persian and Bengali European or you call German English and French Asian. But saying one is European/Asian while the other is not is simply a racist view.

European language Hindi, Persian, Bengali and the likes are all European languages and I don't think those languages have the name Sam.
Finnish and Japanese is another of those combinations that should work very easily since the languages are related even if it's just indirectly.
