I could very quickly sus out what was on FOX news last night by the conversations my coworkers have.

Communist revolution put China behind, but they are realllly catching up fast.

I was gobsmacked when the Amazon share sheet put "or ask Alexa, your shopping assistant for more ideas"

They are floating this so get a pre reaction to see if they should go through with it.

One could even argue that Google Search was/is THE platform of the internet. If you're not there you're not anywhere.

Is it important to be that self reliant? I wasn't in the workforce then, so I assume if you have an outsourced system with 99% reliability it would be an acceptable risk. Not sure if any AI system will reach that level, but for potential gains it could be worth it.

Was cool to see a few of the cities, and then cross reference with some searches on pricing to get a better understanding of the actual cost.

It has always felt to me that the LLM chatbots were a surprise to Google, not LLMs, or machine learning in general.

While I don't disagree, that is unrealistic.

I enjoyed this book greatly, I do not enjoy how Stoicism has become the basic meaning of philosophy.

Meditations is also a decent read.

For me this is the running I do. No phone accessible (still with me for safety). Just the repetitive sound of my feet and breathing, lets my mind wander and enjoy the isolation.

How do you go about editing via ipad, I'm just getting into this whole world, and am finding it difficult to figure out a system.

Wasn't there a story about healthcare companies letting AI determine coverage? I can't remember.

I just made a python script that I keep running that updates when there is a new post from one of my feeds. Feed list is stored locally.

People prefer no ads, that's why its easy to dip into chatgpt get a good enough answer and avoid the rest of the enshitification of every website.

Something else i HIGHLY recommend is subscribing to youtube channels Via RSS. You ACTUALLY KNOW WHEN SOMETHING IS NEW. I've gone way down on my youtube watching rabbit holes since I only engage with it when I have a new video.

I recently made a little RSS feed reader, and its barebones lives on my machine, and is powered by python.

I never could get into any of the RSS reader software it all seemed very happy to put random things in the feed that i didn't care about. A strict timeline of things i want to read is all I want. If there is nothing new there is nothing new and I'm okay with that.

Why build something near or semi near conflict?

A tale as old as time.

One of my ticks is repeatedly highlighting text over and over. I blame years of drone splitting.

It also helps me focus on reading.

My pi's are just an easy onramp for me to have a functional NAS, PIHole, and webcam security.

Not at all the best, but they were cheap. If i WANTED the best or reliable, i'd actually buy real products.

The internet has allowed anyone to build a voice/following. Whether they should or not.
