Agreed. If it was just stolen land and slave labor that propelled America to a global superpower, then why didn't it work out for India? Or Africa? Both of those places LOVE slavery and both murdered their way into existence (Africa still does) but yet they are not wonderful, advanced countries that embrace the rights of people.
Every country in the world stole land from people that lived there before the current inhabitants. Every single one.
Your first sentence is posted as if you're stating a proven fact, but it is a personal/shared opinion based on your digestion of one-sided perspectives on the situation.

I could be convinced of this. Qwerty is a bonus. 500 for the higher memory model seems steep in today's phone market, however. A cheap android, lineageOS or grapheneOS, Kvaesitso, and f-droid and you have a simple phone. Maybe 100 bucks into it? For an ebay refurb? Will add to my watch list though. I like the keyboard. I mean, the early 70's saw some incredibly pivotal policy changes.
The US ended its trade embargo with China. The US dollar flooded European markets. The Vietnam War. The 26th amendment to the US constitution was passed, lowering the voting age. Women really entering the workforce.
Also, president Nixon announced that the US will no longer convert dollars to gold at a fixed value, and with this, froze wages, prices, and rents for 90 days.
Many things can point to this crucial economic change that all culminated around 1971.
