But yes, the administration burden "killed it" for me, too, or at least the enthusiasm to make further edits, although it is a really promising app. I can only imagine taking care of such complex task as your main hobby when you're obsessive to take digital notes of everything. It's not been a year since I've spent a couple of days creating profiles, taking notes of events, conversations, etc, so it might be helpful in a couple of years when I can't remember any of these notes. However, as a self-hosed app, it might not survive that long and I could shut it down to give its resources to something else. Still, a great project, I hope it finds its target audience.

Using the DNS challenge with LE, you can create a wildcard cert that is valid for *.domain.tld. Now you need a simple local DNS server like PiHole to resolve any local domains to your local reverse proxy serving local sites with the wildcard cert and you're done. You only need internet connection on the user's browser to get the little green lock and when you generate the wildcard cert itself.

Why did you make the switch? TTRSS seems to be the golden standard among self-hosters (at least as far as I see)

There are devices that are not easy to free up from ads, eg. unmodified WP mobiles. This way they are protected from ads as well when tehy are conmected to the same network with wifi.

We are using NC with ~250 employees, works fine and runs smooth as butter, syncs to desktop well but many prefer to use the web interface. We are using LDAP auth, it powers our whole stack (Zimbra, OTRS, Debian/Ubuntu servers, Wifi, remote desktops, custom ERP, etc). Honestly, we have more problems with custom built software ($$$) than open source that is free for all. Sometimes I wish we could alter our internal workflows in a blink of an eye to leave out the greedy companies with whom we have software development agreements as legacy.

Is this the case with Merlin's firmware too or just the OEM FW?
