side note: feyerabend is a variation of the german word „feierabend“ which consists of the two nouns „feier“ and „abend“, „party“ and „evening“ respectively. we use that word for „home time“ after the work day. i.e. „feierabend! i’ll call it a day and go home“.

panama papers was a joke. while there was some meat in there that nobody pursued — not even the laughable conglomerate of teethless establishment journalism — its sole purpose was to focus the electorate on the most populist election topic: tax evasion. so, the boundary pendle-swings within the bounds of political correctness.

holy cow. that page was loaded and rendered _before_ mobile safari‘s open-tab-animation finished. going to ddg.co takes _much_ longer.

xkcd. what a great and representative resource... for the sheepish alarmist hn crowd.

it‘s the same hockey stick bull crap that gore used to make you cry.

all the models normalize the raw data into oblivion and all the models are not properly adjusted to preindustrialization fluctuation of the climate. also, the models being used have been developed to understand current data and co2-influences — not to extrapulate predictions.

guess what. all other climate changes in earth‘s history happened w/o humans. plants need at least 150ppm co2. they flourish with more. we‘re pumping co2 into green houses to make shit grow. we are at around 400ppm and had 1200ppm in the past, no problem. now these folks run around headless wanting to lower it further. complete mindlessness.

global average temperature is a joke. the earth‘s climate consists of many, many little subclimates making it so that everywhere you need a different weather forecast that often doesn‘t even hold up. it‘s a system nobody can actually simulate.

the other question is how do you deal with measurement errors today — and back in the day when they used quicksilver? quicksilver deviates by at least 1 degree. have the scales been correct? was the person reading the temperature looking at the thermometer correctly?

it‘s all bullcrap based on error prone data, nicely „normalized“ and „corrected“ every year because their whishful predictions don‘t work out.

climate „scientists“ are gonna tell you they cannot explain the entire climate system, yet they give you nice animations scaring the heck out of you. and that‘s all there is: scare. you‘ll happily pay ridiculous prices for ridiculous co2 certificates and that revenue goes into private pockets.

i whish everybody would scale back and throw themselves into the topic. but everybody i talk to just shuts down and elects to follow their church.

water and co2 are the most important ingredients for life. nobody is going to die because of it. don‘t let yourselves be fooled.

disclaimer: yeah, i‘m receiving millions from the oil and coal industries. BILLIONS even!

i have this weird theory in my head that tim is allocating financials internally to either

A: save money and try to let a product die (mac mini, mbp, ipod)

B: invest to signal hope that a product is in fact not dead (mac pro, also mbp)

both approaches will eventually lead to an iphone-ipad-only apple because in case A things just fade away with the occasional life sign as to not lose too many customers.

case B, on the other hand, gives people what they were yearning for for years and keeps „professionals“ and press stimulated but at a ridiculous price point so that, b/c of low sales, the product line can finally be killed.

obviously. got my own server as well. but i‘d like to know some side-project kind of thing. those are hard to find for me - in the age of seo-ridden search results trying to sell you everything and their mother.

it appears to me their current leadership also would have said <<they‘re one of our biggest platform drivers. let‘s just put flash on idevices. screw „the right thing“. also, money money money!>> when adobe was bitching and mourning.

sure, there have been issues under jobs. but those were of different quality. cook counts beens and has no balls. schiller goes on stage and says „courage“. ive has nobody measuring his and his teams ridiculous design decissions — flat it must be!

i would bet money steve would have put the iphone 6 down, notice it wobbles, pull up his eye brows and sent the team back down the design bunker telling them not to emerge until that bullcrap is fixed.

i love all the things an iphone has to offer. but on top i have the following three requirements.

1. need to reach all screen corners with one thumb: one-handed usage 2. be flat on all sides, don‘t fucking wobble: no bulges 3. i will touch it for interaction; don‘t look at me: touch id

now, looking at what apple serially delivers, these things are not impossible for them to achieve. the question is, why do they go the other way and try to sell me phones too slim to properly house the camera.

USB4 Specification 7 years ago

why the bloody fuck don‘t we get a new, clean thunderbolt bus — as it was invented by apple/intel — and leave the usb folks play their mindless games?

jesus.

there‘s no better alternative.

no, please don‘t tell me about android. that‘s a fucked up mine field altogether.

we need to remember that there is no and will never be 100% security. while not open — which is worth nothing to the average user — we get pretty close with ios given all we know.

that‘s a nice theory.

what actually happens is, when you borrow money, they put the numbers into your account and the negative on their balance sheet. that‘s the basic process of money-creation in a fiat system. out of thin air. debt-based on top so that nobody ever gets away.

but yeah, everybody likes to believe that the amount of money in the system represents goods and services.

every now and then i see somebody claiming to know more and hinting at deeper things going on with mobile modems, basebands, gsm.

then they can‘t say anything because of nda. or the gsm standard manual costs hundreds of dollars.

my tin foil hat is glowing, i‘m telling you. we already know that gsm encryption is a joke. i don‘t want to imagine what‘s going on inside all those closed-source baseband firmwares. it creeps me out.

amen. i can attest to that. but the entire city is a big shit show.

in startups i've seen it. countless low-pay-workers (students who need money) who do useless shit all day. devops who actually do 2 jobs for one salary. ceo's feeling special drowning in certain circles or think they accomplish sth when one of those useless shithead ministers come and look around, talk lies about how they'll improve investmemt regulation.

this city is one giant tourist multi cultural smoke screen.

there's not even one club playing good music (that is, music of my taste). everywhere it's all just weird electronic or rock/pop crap mixed by dirt cheap dj's who take the word "mix" too literally.

i've had a similar situation in germany though not related to parking. i fought back while everybody suggested to just pay. after several letters quoting the law, they lowered the fine.

i wanted to fight to the end because it was a sign for me that they half-admitted wrong-doing.

but, as a sheep, i ended up paying. still hate myself for giving in.

i am surprised butler got this far on hn. read this before the next elections. before the next assad. before your friends and relatives go on tours with the troops.

i have to admit i'm quite jealous of the u.s. constitution as it is very restrictive and works by the assumption that the state has no rights except those explicitely granted therein. really a beautiful document.

though there are some stupid loopholes it heavily depends on the people to defend it. but meanwhile, everybody is whining, brainwashed, focussing on the 2nd amendmend. unable to see its purpose.

other shit is more important, i guess. like what the gas price is and if silicon valley is eating money.

sheep have just lost their way.
