I consider all of these likely-

FBI found someone inside they could negotiate with(IE- better patents or the threat of denied patents)

FBI found someone they could bribe

FBI hacked and broke into the iphone

3/3 of those Apple wants to keep quiet.

This is the biggest benefit of Apple users.

I like Bitcoin, I don't see a use for any other coin. Decentralized verification seems to be valuable in Currency only.

Timestamps and voting do not seem to be valuable, this was the craze over alt coins.

when you value things that are based on things outside your control e.g. social validation, financial success, you will struggle to be happy.

These are outside our control? I found both were achieved by choosing to be an engineer and going above and beyond.

When Medical got regulated in the U.S. the prices skyrocketed, and customer care stagnated. The regulators were incentivized to create a monopoly by the entrenched medical professionals.

Now people are asking for more regulations. Is that the solution?

The government is an entity of elected and unelected people. They have their own bias, their own friends, their own wants.

I have stopped using Facebook because it sucks, but if the government sucks, I am forced to use them.

Sweat shop workers are losing their ability to do mindless labor, next up, they will be using their brains to make low skill decisions where automation cannot. Think Amazon Turk.

Customers get lower cost, likely higher quality products.

Company gets more reliable workforce.

It's all fun and games until you have to take into consideration the soci-economical aspect of automation.

This has already happened in history. You COULD make it illegal, but then your countries technology will be out performed by another country.

My buddy is developing a fireworks Sim in js + embedded systems to coordinate with a fireworks show.

This sounds really bad until you look at the happy contractors making over 6 figures, and are on track to retire in their 30s.

Everyone likes to complain, everyone wants more money. If you are making 6 figs and can't retire by 40, that was a personal decision.

If economics are irrational because humans are irrational. Apple is the primary argument that humans are irrational.

Forming logical conclusions on anything Apple does is dangerous. They overcharge and under deliver(at least on Hardware). They are primarily marketing, not tech.

For this same reason, their valuation is irrational. I don't expect Apple to be above 500M for much longer than a few years.

This is bad economics.

Jobs are literally necessary for our society to function.

If everyone was jobless but 'happy', they wouldn't be happy when the food runs out. Or houses start to get old. Or iphones stop being built and websites are taken offline.

Economics are more important than a single individuals happiness, its our survival.

Not tipping sounds great until you order food in Europe.

That said, I've heard good things about Japan's food service, and they don't require tipping.

Looking back at my education,

Precalc and English were me 2 most useful classes.

"Science" "engineering" and "history" were actually useless. If you were going to get further education, college science eclipses HS science in 1 semester. My Engineering class was the most absurd, it wasn't engineering. History was basically propaganda.

High school needs to end sooner. AP classes are the sign of this.

Yeah the G9s we bought had nothing labeled. Going to give amazon a try.

I bought some G9 bulbs, and they are not performing like the halogens... It doesn't give me the full RGB like halogens and my house looks pale white(lacks red) instead of full color.

I might go back, I do not like the look of my house, and I find myself turning on my living room lights AND dining room lights. The brightness wasn't there.

There is massive improvement to be made on LEDs still.
