I haven't seen the original post that the girl sent, so how can we even judge her?

And I don't expect my private message to become public, do you? Of course, messaging an unknown like that, you have to be more careful.

Maybe she just had a bad day, the message came at a bad time.

The funny thing is, to me the 20 something does come of feeling entitled, after posting this personal message everywhere because she did not get here way.

Now obviously the original lady was a rude, but so what? Somehow being rude to someone is grounds for public evisceration these days? Of course being publicly humiliated is way worse than being rude to someone.

The choice isn't giving $3000 to be a voluntourist, and give $3000 to a charity to hire locals to do the work. The other choice is to go to Europe and blow $3000 having a good time.

So what size classes should someone have stepped in? 70? 100? Not to mention that having so many in a class was probably a H&S hazard.

It seems more Escalante was the one not prepared to compromise in this instance.

This is exactly the sort of thing unions should step in to solve, so you will have to find another example of why unions are not all good. There are plenty out there.

I can still remember the client wanting the underlined links removed from the website. I explained that this was how everybody new what a link was, but it didn't fit the style. The first time I heard about this css thing. It was tables all the way down in those days, and there was talk that this wasn't the best way to do things.

Yet still to this day, something are only manageable with tables. But with have display:table-cell now, so it is all different.

Sure, but you would also have to bring along a phone/tablet to show it off, or laptop/adapter.

Then how would you prove it had that much data? You can fake a sd card right now to show it has a huge amount of data on it.

I can hold up a piece of dust and claim it can hold 20tb, but no one will believe me.

Why do people say that? Apples and oranges are very comparably, just as these to apps are very comparable.

Just because you disagree with one datapoint doesn't mean you can't compare them.

Probably prioritises them very low, so they do not rock up in a lot of searches. Maybe puts them on the old server in the corner of the room.

There is a website that lets you search minus the million most popular websites, and it is very different.

Why would you think a designer would have no justification for a change beyond “it looks nice”? What would you assume designers don’t understand issues like pixel alignment or designing for multiple devices? Why would you think designers would be raising these issues based on Photoshop mock-ups?

You are right, they often have good reason, and can make the case by explaining that. Of course, they often to not have a good reason beyond spacing, it looks better, it is too crowded, or it is not crowded enough.

If you really lived in the UK you would now that lots of people complain about everything, all the time. Especially the NHS.

Now, that doesn't change the point that universal health care exists in most countries, and they are better of for it.

SO isn't anything special, or a complicated site. There is no reason a Portuguese equivalent couldn't be whipped up by someone from Portugal or Brazil.

If police forces were organizations of justice, they would compensate victims of false imprisonment as a matter of course. Say you spend a night in jail for an errant arrest, you get an immediate $2k for time lost and distress incurred. This way, they wouldn't be able to shuffle the damages from their run-roughshod approach onto innocent people.

Oh yeah, this would not cause more problems than it solves.

This is a harrowing tale, but remember this is just one side of the story. And you don't know how inebriated this guy really was. But always best to follow instructions from the police, especially when you are not involved in the situation.

You were talking to a low level employee, who doesn't know a great deal about the company he works for, and is just following a script with a specific set of rules.

I get confused when people try to reason with these guys, they can only do what they are allowed to do. They aren't going to make an executive decision and break the rules for you. You need to feel around what they can do, and don't expect miracles.

Since the guy didn't even include any snapshots of his design, he can't be too proud of it.
