Ask HN: Are there immediate practical uses of “Bitcoin 2.0”?

There is a plenty of so-called "Bitcoin 2.0" projects which try to build something on top of Bitcoin, or, maybe, just inspired by Bitcoin.

But many of them seem to be either outright impractical (i.e. trying to decentralize what could easily be done in a centralized environment), or are contingent on assumptions which cannot be taken for granted. (E.g. a cryptocurrency backed by major banks would certainly be a hit, but is unlikely to happen.)

So I wonder, is there something which can be useful right now?

Disclosure: I'm working on one of Bitcoin 2.0 projects.
