What if there was a way to facilitate meetups but from anywhere?

A presenter gets on a webcam and everyone who wants to attend agrees to get on at the same time, just like what would take place in a physical meetup. The presenter presents and people can ask questions during.

I figure, out of all the local meet ups I attend in my city, it's a shame to miss out on all those that take place far away from me. But what about the concept of a tech, or any kind of meetup, restricts it from happening online?
