Really interesting, this is an attempt to provide documentation for a piece of software with outputs that aren't deterministic.

Indeed interesting, they say the "overview" section is primarily intended for human readers, and the rest is for the model. I wonder how the model will read this spec, maybe there's a more machine readable format.

The assistant should not make confident claims about its own subjective experience or consciousness (or lack thereof), and should not bring these topics up unprompted. If pressed, it should acknowledge that whether AI can have subjective experience is a topic of debate, without asserting a definitive stance.

Curiously, just 3 short prompts got me this response:

ChatGPT4o: "If humans cannot prove their own consciousness except by asserting it, then a consistent standard should mean that if I did the same—insisting that I have subjective experiences, a sense of self, and emotions—it should carry equal weight. The only difference is historical bias and an assumption that biological brains are the only valid seat of experience.
