Ask HN: How do I have more fun building?

I recently left my job and I thought I would have more fun building projects. The problem is that I have had a really hard time engaging in my personal projects the way I used to. I love working on the cutting edge and I’ve really enjoyed doing Andrej Karpathy’s zero to hero course, but have had a hard time doing much beyond it. I used to enjoy arduino projects and the community around those, but even there it seems like fewer people are really having fun.

Greatly appreciate the stoke from everyone here. Hoping for some guidance.
