When people talk about banning social networks, I fully support them because of stuff like this. You cannot be a social network and literally ignore threat actors on your platform and expect to ride into the sunset with your ad business. Democracies have been falling all over Africa and Asia because of this garbage. This company's "social network" has been used to organize genocides

social media can reach far more people with a single post then you can with a single phone call or text message. Social media also rewards engagement and reposting which further propagates a message.

Yes, and phones are regulated to a greater extent. For example. in some jurisdictions there are do-not-call lists and specific rules about how to do electioneering over the phone.

You are actually proving the point that social media needs more regulation, which is actually quite funny.
