Ask HN: Is it worth doing a reputable virtual MBA at 46?

Friend of mine is struggling with the decision of whether to purse an virtual MBA. He is a mid level manager in tech and I think he could be 46-47 years of age. Anyone in the same boat, what are the advantages and disadvantages?
