My family is all east coast US. Luckily mom was up and was the point of contact I needed an hour ago. So if anyone else just needs a friendly voice, send me a message or email charles@geuis.com. I'll try my best to talk to anyone, but I'm sorry if sleep or timing just doesn't work out.

I appreciate your effort in supporting people. Christmas can be really lonely for a lot of people.

People who have family really do not understand that. Christmas is full of lights and presents and songs and happy people until one day it is not.

I called my mom in the nursing home earlier today. I was singing her Christmas Carols when she just put the phone down and started drinking water.

I wasn't sure what was happening and with all the gurgling I thought maybe she was in trouble. I had to call the nursing staff and ask them to go find out what was going on. She was ok, so we had a laugh about it.

It's hard for me to hardly be able to talk to my mom anymore. She is so weak we can hardly talk on the phone. When she does talk, she does not always make very much sense. I am sad all the time about it, but there does not seem to be much I can do.

Maybe this story helps someone else who is also alone to know that it is just them.
