buried deep in the article is a half-sentence description of what they are actually trying to do:

the company instead hopes to find more “plausible” interventions, like drugs that mimic the effects of blood replacement and could be used by millions of people

I'm not sure why billionaires don't put more money into it. Maybe they do? We can go to Mars after we eliminate death from old age

As a non-American, I'm pretty much amazed by the U.S. Country has its own share of problems sure, but it seems like the only place with a lot of ultra-rich people willing to bet their pockets on super-ambitious moonshots...some or even most of them may be silly, but the few that succeed make enormous impact (e.g., SpaceX).

Good luck to Altman, except with that silly thing called Worldcoin.
