If I ask it for suggestions that can be bought at the airport and which will fit in my hand luggage, it suggests stuff that's good to have while travelling which is not what I'm asking for.

I know that it's a high bar to hold a hobby project to but ChatGPT crushes it at giving specific suggestions - it was able to understand the requirement for small volume, and it gave decent recommendations based on a general profile like "middle aged woman" or "a man in his early 20s".
