No, retail and politics do not compel untruth. Being a shiesty piece of shit (or pathological liar) is why they lie. However, occupation isn't mentioned in the linked metastudy, and most of the studies used students.

The article quotes "small group of prolific liars" seems to come from here: https://www.oakland.edu/research/news-archive/ou-researcher-...

However, that study states "prolific liars are much more likely to work in business professional and technical occupations". Politicians aren't mentioned.
