We created YouTube Premium to provide an uninterrupted YouTube experience, so you can get closer to the videos, creators, and music artists that you love. To continue delivering great service and features, we will be increasing your Premium family plan price from $17.99/month to $22.99/month.

This change will take place on your next billing cycle starting on or after November 21, 2022.

I never thought I'd cancel YouTube Premium (I like the Ad Free-ness, and YouTube Music is alright). But this is such a sharp price increase that I'm seriously evaluating it. My price increase was proportionally even larger than OP's, I'm going from $14.99 to $22.99, or a 45% jump. I was getting $14.99 in value out of it, and I may have ignored a jump to $17.99 but that $22.99 price is what I am paying for two other streaming services.

Plus, frankly, other streaming services are using my money to make original programming, whereas YouTube's content is supplied by [mostly] small creators to YouTube, and Google is paying a pittance in ad revenue (YT Premium or otherwise). They're also doing this when food and other bills are also spiking, putting a giant target on their back as something that we may not REALLY need.

Seems like corporations read about all this "10% inflation" talk then decided that they needed 20-30-40% price increase to "get theirs."

It's not a pittance. There's an entire, large cottage industry of people sustaining themselves off of YouTube revenue.

It’s such a sharp increase in price, combined with virtually every other streaming providers having jacked up their prices that I’m going to cancel this and a few other services.

The family needs to read more books anyway.

Price hike is even worse if you're a stubborn Apple user who prefers managing subscriptions with IAP.
