Ask HN: How are obvious spam emails still able to make it into my Gmail inbox?

I've been receiving more obvious spam emails recently, like an email that pretends to be Dicks Sporting Goods. The title is "CONGRATULATIONS!". The content says that I won a free Yeti cooler. The "from" email address is a mess, but it contains keywords like "protection", "ind01", "outbound", "outlook", etc.

And it doesn't even go into the promotions folder, but into my main Inbox. I thought that Google became so good that spam like this was basically impossible. It's been the case for a while now. Has something changed?
