Ask HN: How are obvious spam emails still able to make it into my Gmail inbox?
https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=33028753I've been receiving more obvious spam emails recently, like an email that pretends to be Dicks Sporting Goods. The title is "CONGRATULATIONS!". The content says that I won a free Yeti cooler. The "from" email address is a mess, but it contains keywords like "protection", "ind01", "outbound", "outlook", etc.
And it doesn't even go into the promotions folder, but into my main Inbox. I thought that Google became so good that spam like this was basically impossible. It's been the case for a while now. Has something changed?
