How do I bring more users to my site. what free alternatives can i use

It is simple. Put things on your website that people want.

People share things of value with their network.

If you have a tool that solves a problem then blog about how it has helped someone, for instance. Encourage people to share. Link to it in relevant answers on other websites...etc. Post it on show hn. If people want what you have they will come for it.

What is your website offering (either in the way of goods or services or information) that's better/different from other websites? Is that something that people want or want to use?

And please stop calling people who do or might come to your site users. Doing that, at least to me, shows that you're only interested in them as a commodity and not as people. That you're only looking for their eyeballs or at their wallets.

sorry, but I'm asking people to visit my site more because it's a social network, and it will only grow if you are there and post your content. I'm not gaining anything with it, I just want more content from you. thanks

If your website is similar to reddit you can try to post it to /r/RedditAlternatives

Also I would recommend to allow to browse it without creating an account - who would sign up to a random website without even knowing what is there?
