Ask HN: What are the alternatives of HN for hackers?

Don't get me wrong. I think Hacker News are great and I often read good posts/news/works here.

I am wondering if there are alternatives/peers beyond my knowledge and are as hacker-friendly as HN. Thanks.

I check Hackaday now and then, it often has cool stuff which is often actual hacking.

Is that 'Hacking' as in the original meaning of 'hacking' which was 'the clever use of computer resources and algorithms'.

Or the more recent meaning of 'hacking' as in 'cracker' or 'breaking into remote computer systems' which is nowhere near as interesting?

Hi thanks for asking. Either meaning is ok for me. Actually, I was thinking about topics about computer science, programming technology or just technology when I wrote this question here. I used the word"hacking" just because we are at Hacker News. Do you recommend any other sites/communities related to above topics? Thanks
