Kinsey consultant said they would be 6x as popular as Tucker Carlson. I wonder if a failure of that magnitude ever gets back to these sorts of firms.

They made it less than a month. I'm sure that netflix's bad day had something to do with this. I've been saying for a while that the balkanization of content and it's distribution will not ultimately lead to any innovation in the space. Also, most consumers have a finite and relatively low tolerance for "one more service". That means the value prop for a subscription news service isn't great to begin with, just ask newspapers.
