It would be so nice. It is amazing that Type1 is not a death sentence anymore. Managing It is quite laborious, invasive and full of side effects. Also without access to meds coma and death are always right around the corner. This is terrifying and having a permanent cure would probably make a world of difference for those affected.

The article is light on detail (I couldn't view the video). It claims to use stem cells to create new insulin-producing cells in the host body, but what prevents these new insulin producing cells from being attacked by the immune system like the original ones were?
