My favorite tactic that I currently deal with at $DAYJOB is an offshoot of this — consensus by intimidation.

Get everyone in a zoom call with every manager and C suite, do something glaringly unpopular that only affects rank-and-file employees, and then ask if anyone has any questions, comments or concerns to a room of crickets.

And then for the vinegar strokes close the meeting by taking about how much you value transparency and openness.

Every single time he’s like suprised pikachu when everyone complains to their teams and it becomes office drama or to their direct manager instead.
