The obesity crisis is a global problem, someday we are going to round up the ‘fat acceptance’ people and hold them responsible like the other war criminals.

Its like the 'doctors' in the 50's and 60's that endorsed smoking. Just because someone you want to trust says exactly what you want to hear doesnt make it true. Being over weight is unhealthy and hard on your joints, etc ... too much fat has no redeeming features.

Fat acceptance is particularly hard on the poor, minorities, and other groups that are over represented in obesity.

Who owns our bodies? If it's us, the individual operating the body, then telling your doctor to provide advice based on "im not eating less, I'm not gonna quit smoking / snorting 3g of coke a day / whatever" isn't unreasonable.

If "Society, "God" or "Government" own the body, someone other than the person in it; then we've got a massively silly situation.

Lots and lots of noise has been made over the past 100 years avoiding that central question. Doctors and Governments want to own our bodies, but don't want to say so outright, because they fear many people will object to the notion.

You own your body? I feel mine more owns me. If anyone thinks a doctor is going to provide helpful advice after saying something stupid like "im not eating less, I'm not gonna quit smoking / snorting 3g of coke a day / whatever" then they can go ahead and get out of society altogether cuz theyre dragging us down.

You're free to go to a doctor and tell them whatever you want. They're also free to tell you that you're an idiot and they're not going to help you unless you stop doing idiot things.
