Have you used functional test coverage tools

Looking to hear about using code coverage tools to evaluate large functional/integration automation suites that use tools like selenium. How did it work for you, did you use an off the shelf tool or did you purchase one? Trying to evaluate if this is worth doing and if it should be off the shelf.
