Ask HN: Is every online community slowly being taken over by marketing?

I do this a lot myself with my own startup, and it works really well, but I feel very bad that I am polluting an otherwise helpful and wholesome community with my marketing. Is there any online community (especially geared towards startups) that isn't full of marketing? Or is this not necessarily a bad thing?
