Ask HN: How do you find sites like this?

This is probably a dumb question, but I found this site while digging through some comments:

It made me think; there is no way I would ever come across this and similar small sites on HN or Reddit, or any other aggregator I can think of. So, how would you go about intentionally finding interesting small sites for fun?
