Ask HN: Is it a bad idea to do a launch on New Years?

I was debating this with myself, and figured HN would be a good forum for my question. This weekend, I am planning to launch a mobile, touch-optimized, version of a guitar tablature site I built. I was planning to co-inside with the release date of jQuery Mobile (which I am using for the project.)

I was also considering purchasing a press release with PRWeb. Although, today I am wondering if my news will go on deaf ears. I figure no one will be working on New Years day. Although, there will be many people at home on their computers. What do you guys think? Should I launch on New Years as planned? Or, postpone until the workweek?
