If I assume everything I read is an advertisement

If I assume everything I read from a news source is an advertisement how close would I be to the truth. The article about sharks just before a shark movie is released; the article about medical practice that conveniently mentions a book; the story on a cyber attack just as you notice more cyber security solution google ads popping up. How close would I be?
