Ask HN: Best object detection model for traffic and pedestrians?

I've been looking up models for detecting traffic and pedestrians on street and counting them. I've looked at YOLO and SSD Mobilenets. Are there any other state of the art models or techniques for this purpose that you guys have been working with?
