Ask HN: Can Jobs generate the same media attention for other products?

Maybe its because I just saw the excellent documentary "The Century of the Self" about the invention of public relations but I am amazed that all media its focus on Apple´s keynote. I wonder what Jobs could do behind a candidate or if there are other guys like him in Washington designing our culture.
