Ask HN: How does something like Google's quantum comp. mean for crypto currency?

In this[0] article and a few others, it sounds like there is some headway being made in QC. Bitcoin, and encryption more generally, will likely be impacted majorly if the 100,000,0000x number is to be believed. Even orders of magnitude less, outside a lab, would probably be agame changer for crypto.

Anyone have any info on these claims being legitimate and their impact on crypto?
